About Chendu Civil Aviation Development Forum
 With the support from related government and organizations, as well as the world leading airlines and airports, New Special Zone, New Development Opportunities---- 2007 Chengdu Civil Aviation Development Forum will be held on 10th and 11th, November, 2007 in Chengdu , Sichuan Province, China. This event is organized by Chengdu Municipal Government, hosted by Sichuan Province Airport Group and Chengdu Municipal Committee of Communication, supported by Chengdu Culture Tour Development Group and JF Pearson (China).
Driven by Chengdu’s fast and stable economic growth, flourish development of local tourism industry, as well as large increase of international trade volume, the demand for air transport in Chengdu will continue to rise strongly. As an important southwest aviation hinge and distribution center of passengers and cargos, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is among the top six places in various production indexes. In 2006, the passenger-handling capacity reached 16, 278, 730 person-times, increased by 17.1% compared with that of 2005; the freight handling capacity reached 295, 486 tons, with an increase rate of 17.7% of 2005; while the takeoff/touchdown sorties reached 156, 340 time with an increase rate of 17.6%.
As the management corporation of the main airports in Sichuan Province, Sichuan Province Airport is aimed to be the best airport operation management group in China’s central and western areas, and is driving to build Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport as the largest gateway airport in western China and the fourth largest aviation hub in China as well. So it is of the most important task to accelerate airport infrastructure construction, strengthen communication and cooperation with domestic and international airlines and airports and optimize air routes network.
In view of these issues, Sichuan Province Airport Group is inviting you to participate in this international summit on the future civil aviation development opportunities in China’s western areas.
